You have friends coming to visit and you realize you haven\u2019t finished setting up the guest space! You may find yourself wondering what this guest room actually needs, so we\u2019ve put together this little handy guide for you. You of course want your guests to feel comfortable and welcome, so here are a few things that will help make that happen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Comfy and Cozy Bed<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    We suggest putting a little extra effort into creating a comfortable sleeping experience for your guests. This is probably the most important of all the tips we\u2019ve composed in this post. Have you ever stayed somewhere and the decor looked great but you just didn\u2019t get a great night\u2019s sleep because of the bed? The hardest part about being away from home is that the bed you\u2019ll be sleeping in isn\u2019t yours! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Make your guest room stand out by selecting a good mattress, comfy pillows, and high-quality bedding. If you wouldn\u2019t sleep in it, your guests won\u2019t want to either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To make the bed extra fluffy and luxurious looking, use a thick, but lightweight, duvet insert and duvet cover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Pro-tip:<\/em><\/strong> We suggest white bedding (or at least sheets) as it feels and looks more clean. Add a throw on top to add color and style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Add a bedside table + reading lamp<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A bedside table may seem like a no-brainer but we wanted to mention it because it\u2019s so important! Make sure your guests have a place to place their bedside essentials, like their phones, and a reading lamp. Having multiple forms of lighting is a good idea, so that if they don\u2019t want to have the overhead light on they are still able to read or have some form of light on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A fun extra to add may be some form of charging station for phones, smart watches, etc. At the very least, try to have an easily-accessible plug behind the nightstand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Luggage Storage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It\u2019s a great idea to add some sort of luggage storage for your guests. You can add a luggage stand, or just have plenty of open space in the closet for it to go. Just keep in mind that guests probably will not want to have their luggage sitting in the middle of the room, so whatever you can add to give them a little more space to walk around is great. Having some empty hangers or storage like a dresser or some sort of drawer storage is recommended for longer-term stays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Access to Internet <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the day and age we are living in, the internet is pretty much a must! And your guests are more than likely going to want to connect to it. It\u2019s a great idea to have a little card with the internet info like you would find in a hotel room. That way, if they need it and you are unavailable, they\u2019ll be able to connect easily. Get creative with it! Add it to a picture frame for an aesthetically pleasing option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. Extra Blankets + Pillows<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It\u2019s always a good idea to have extra pillows and blankets. You don\u2019t know what your guests preferences will be and you don\u2019t want them to have to ask for these items from you. We suggest having two firm pillows, and two soft. That way your guests can choose whatever comfort level they are used to having at home. Having several lightweight blankets will allow them to layer as necessary, and they\u2019ll be easy to wash whenever they leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. Clean + Fresh Towels<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Include bath towels (at least one per guest), smaller hand and face towels and at least one wash cloth per guest. Larger towels are best, to accommodate all body-sizes but if you only have regular, that is fine too.
